The HUB system communications managers are the backbone of your networked OutBack power conversion system. The OutBack HUB communicates stacking, load share and power save off/on signals. Interconnection cabling is standard Ethernet CAT5 with RJ45 modular jacks. Through the use of a HUB, your system is completely coordinated and managed by the MATE2M. The HUB-4 communication manager is only required when stacking inverters in any of the multiple inverter configurations - such as parallel, series, series-parallel or three phase.
The HUB also allows the multiple OutBack products to "talk" with a single MATE2M system display and controller. This saves money and makes operation and monitoring of the system easier as all of the information is condensed on a single screen. The HUB also allows coordination of the multiple OutBack products so that you can issue commands such as ON/OFF or equalize with a single button press rather than having to manage each unit separately. The HUB also allows one remote battery temperature sensor to adjust the settings on all of the products connected to the HUB - saving money and making the wiring and operation simpler.
With a system that has a single inverter and MX60 a HUB is not required- but only the inverter's information will only be displayed on the MATE2M. Both the inverter and the MX60 will then require their own remote temperature sensors (RTS) each.
